:: design we love :: MUTINA PHENOMENON

Mutina is ahead of the tile game, and as an Italian company that is no surprise! Starting in 2005 they made a strong commitment to encourage designers to bring in fresh, creative ideas to ceramic surfaces. Any and all experiments welcome, texture and scale to be challenged. A series we love is called ‘Phenomenon’ because the scale of the mosaic tiles are incredibly small and precious. Picture classic tile shapes, made itty-bitty, and what it lacks in size it makes up for in texture. Japanese artist Tokujin Yoshioka uses poetry and light as his inspiration and combines the delicacy with a technical approach. We are hoping to see this tile in a shower design very soon!
