Palm Springs is a typical Seattlite ‘getaway’ when the rainy season comes and is here to stay. It’s a quick, relatively inexpensive flight to the California Desert for beautiful mid-century modern architecture and plain old fashioned sunshine. We did a bike tour around the town to see the mid-century buildings, so this is an Albert Frey appreciation post. His iconic residences on the hillsides of Palm Springs were a testament to the idealism of the era and marker in time for the International Style.
