As a departure from Mercer Island’s historic vernacular, we went for the unconventional white brick as the primary material and a lighter palette of creams and tans to modernize the exterior and brighten the view among the lush, tree-studded landscape. Using architecture to create adventure, the house features a second-story ‘catwalk’ and master suite in a ‘treehouse’ over an outdoor living space for the active family.
