The Smithsonian started a podcast in 2016 titled ‘Sidedoor’ - a rare glimpse inside the 157 million treasures within its vast collection. The name ‘Sidedoor’ is meant to invoke a sense that you are entering the museum through its literal side door and that you are back with the staff discovering stories embedded within the objects. Lizzy Peabody is the podcast host and she has a great sense of humor paired with a wonderful gift of storytelling. The image above is a February episode telling the unknown story of the Wright Brother’s sister who was instrumental in helping them achieve their success.
