Kona Bicycles are headquartered in nearby Ferndale, WA (neighbor to Bellingham) and have been manufactured in Taiwan since 1988. Their origin city is Vancouver and are widely known for their reliable Mountain bikes that can navigate our PNW technical terrain with ease. The brand has gone on to make equally strong gravel and road bikes, as well as expanding their mountain bike offerings (now that the sport is so diversified in type of trail and how a bike can respond or perform to certain conditions!). The brand was recently sold to Kent Outdoors, but as of 2024, the original founders purchased the company back so they can relaunch the brand.
